"Zomato changes its name to Eternal Limited!"

Zomato has officially changed its name to Eternal Limited after its listing on the BSE Sensex on December 23. The company board has approved the name change, although the food delivery brand will continue to operate under the Zomato name. Zomato's CEO, Deepinder Goyal, explained that the name change is not just a rebranding but a mission statement. He mentioned that when Zomato acquired Blinkit, the company was looking to move in a new direction. They believed that the name "Eternal" would be suitable for expanding beyond food delivery, and now, they feel they have reached that stage.

Eternal Limited will encompass four business units: Zomato (food delivery services), Blinkit (grocery and instant delivery services), District (restaurant support services), and Hyperpure (supply services for restaurants). Goyal also expressed pride in Zomato becoming the first tech startup from India to be listed on the Sensex, adding that this accomplishment will bring more responsibility for the company's future. He emphasized that the new name represents perpetual growth and a long-term mission, marking the start of a new chapter for the company as it expands its business scope.
